OBLIVIATE: AN AU POTTER RP
Imagine a world where Harry Potter is nowhere to be found yet not dead, Voldemort has dictated himself Minister of Magic, and muggleborns are running for their lives. This is this realm. Harry Potter has not yet destroyed the horcruxes, at age eighteen, and the Wizarding World is beginning to wonder if they are ever going to be rescued from this ravaging despair.
Dementor encounters are increasingly high. So much so that the Emergency Restoration Services Squad of the Ministry has to erase the memories of at least three muggles per day. The world is darker than anyone could have imagined.
Aberforth Dumbledore has taken up the post of his dead brother Albus (who was murdered by Death Eater Severus Snape months ago) and Headmaster of Hogwarts. He is trying his hardest to make sure that Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry remains a safe place for young witches and wizards.
It is doubtful that he can keep the Death Eaters out permanently yet thus far he has been successful. All of the staff members are well known Order Members (as these are the only people that Aberforth trusts), but he knows that this alone isn't enough to keep everyone safe. He simply keeps going on with the hopes that somehow they'll extinguish this dark cloud hanging above their heads.
The Shrieking Shack is impenetrable by anyone now, it has been made into the new Order Headquarters. Yet Aberforth leaves McGonagall in charge when he goes to these meetings, filling her in on what she's missed when he returns as soon as humanly possible without the fear of prying ears or information leaking to the students.
Severus Snape, however, has nearly broken through the barriers that Aberforth has put in place, and Merlin only knows what hell will break loose when that happens. Apparently the Dark Lord means for him to be Headmaster.
Draco Malfoy is on the look-out with other Snatchers for Public Enemy Number One which is Harry James Potter. No one knows where he is or what he's up to, but Harry is gaining confidence. The only horcrux left to destroy is Helga's cup and Nagini. He had better hurry, though, hope isn't lingering long in these dark days.
Several young witches and wizards have stepped up to the plate, trying to help vanquish the world of evil: Hannah Abbott, Neville Longbottom, Dean Thomas, Seamus Finnigan, Lisa Turpin, Astoria Greengrass, and Josephine Scrimgeour among them. The one that has caused most heads to turn, however, is the daughter of well known; well feared, and well respected, death eater Severus Snape. Linda Snape has taken up posts in the Order with the hopes of helping the darkness to be extinguished.
The Death Eaters have targeted all eight of these teens, but as of yet none of them have been killed from their encounters. However, substantial injuries have been dished out to Turpin and Finnigan. No one knows if they'll ever leave St. Mungo's on account of their various injuries.
The Death Eaters are quickly trying to stomp out the resistance, but there are people willing to try to beat them back, and they're not going to lie down and make it easy for them.
You may scream for mercy or out of hate, but they will issue Muffiliato around the locale and silence you with a swift silencio. Your whispers and screams will be dead to the darkness.
So choose your allegiances wisely. Will you join the Order to fight this noxious darkness threatening to suffocate every being within London, or will you join the Death Eaters and plunge the world into despair and unhappiness? Or will you sit on the side-lines too cowardly to do anything? The choice is yours. But don't blame us if you die. We warned you.
